Hello,
first real try at growing strawberries.
Can any one tell me whats wrong? Some of the lower leaves are turning reddish.
whats wrong with my strawberries?
Those may be last years leaves that came with the plant. I trim most of them off at planting.
Your new growth looks fine.
My established beds are loaded with berries, the red leaves catch my eye ~ "A ripe one" lol. It'll be a couple more weeks for me.

I don't think it's anything to worry about either. We probably have over 600 plants, and a lot of them have these "old" leaves. Some of our berries are just starting to ripen...but we could use a lot more rain to help them out.
Make sure you put pea straw under the plants and this will stop the fruit from rotting on the soil. Strawberries deteriorate very quickly - especially if they come in contact with moist soil.
