Unknown bird

Benton County, MO(Zone 5a)

SOLVED: This one just showed up at my feeder today and I have never seen one before here. I'm not sure what he is. He had a light yellow belly that you can't see. He stayed long enough for me to get just this one shot, and then he was gone. Anyone know what he could be? He was probably medium sized.

Great Crested Flycatcher

The orangey-brown tail is a useful pointer.

Thanks Resin! I was even having trouble figuring out what group of birds he belonged to. lol Thanks so much!

I researched this bird and when I logged on to post, Resin had answered your question. It peeked my curiosity because I got a glimpse of a similar bird the other day, but thought it was probably just a Western Kingbird. Lots of those around here. Just now my wife said there is a bird trying to fly into the French doors in my study. Went out to investigate and it was a Great Crested Flycatcher! A new bird for me. In fact there were two. I got a photo so I'm sure of the id.

Also saw an Olive-sided Flycatcher today-- another first. A good day with almost no effort. Sometimes it happens that way. :-)

Nice one, red ...... If you haven't, I would recommend listening to its voice (at the following link). I had one visit my backyard yesterday, for the first time ever. For a few weeks I've heard this bird call coming from an adjacent woods and wondering what it was because it was an unmistakable sound. After seeing and photographing the Great crested Flycatcher in my backyard and then listening to its sound, it was definitely the bird that I have been hearing for a week or two.
