On my way from Sea-Tac Airport to the port, I saw lots of bushes with yellow flowers growing rampant. Can someone ID them?

That is our very nasty, noxious Scotch Broom. Although it is beautiful, it is outrageously invasive.
It's Yellow Scotch Broom.
Beleive ME this Variety You Do Not Want to Get Started.
The Smell is...Well Let's Just Say...Pungent.
Will Have Black Pea-like Seed Pods that Will Germinate Over a Period of Time.
The States of Washington and Oregon Use to Plant this All Over as Freeway Landscape Until...It Went on the Invasive Lists....and Begin to Spread Beyond the Freeway Landscaping as I Think it Shows in Your Picture.
We are all on the same station with this one. LOL^_^

I could tell by the places I saw it that it appeared to be invasive. Very striking though in mass plantings.
The story is someone brought it over from England where it is not invasive.
It has a fairly wide distribution, from Alaska to Hawaii on the West Coast. It does occur on the east coast, too. If it weren't so successful and so hard on the allergies, we could appreciate it a little more, I think. I'm one of the few who think it is a pretty plant . . .

I'll grant the "pretty in bloom when planted in masses" part, but what a pain to eradicate.
I think that is very pretty too, and fortunately don't suffer the effects of the pollen like DH does. I actually had one volunteer in my yard (have no idea where it came from) and I loved it. Managed to kill it though, and I am pretty good at growing invasive things here. Was pretty surprised that when it was pampered it didn't hang around.
