Well, here are a few of my attempts at making fairy gardens. They are in hypertufa troughs and dishes that I made.
It's kind of hard to tell, but in the center of this picture is a sunken pond. It's actually a water dish for lizards that I found at a pet shop. They had lots of stuff that would work in tiny gardens, but they were kind of expensive. Luckily the pond was on sale.
First attempts
Adorable, that last one is my favorite. What is the little tree?
Great job! They are so pretty!
Thanks Bugme and Sallysblooms. Bugme, I'll check out the tag on that tree tonight and let you know.
Zhinusmom, your tiny lizard on the rock is just adorable! Your whole garden is cute.
TY....I love little gardens and have fun making things for them...
The little tree in my last picture above is an Ulmus minor 'Jacqueline Hillier' elm. Growth rate is less than 4" per year, hardiness -20 deg. F.
TY, I need to look for one of those! It is really pretty!!
very cute!
belinda
great job!
I've seen those lizard water dishes, and thought how cute they'd be in a dish garden, too, but never tried it. It looks great!
And of course I love the dragonflies, since I used those in my first garden. Did you buy the buttons and place on wire?
There are so many nice buttons that will work for fairy gardens. I have some tiny sunflowers ones I want to use on my next fairy garden.
Isn't it funny, how you can't just make ONE fairy garden? If you make one, then you always have that "next one" you are wanting to do, lol
what fun to share with your granddaughter :0)
She did a great job!

Seedpicker, yes, the dragonflies are buttons! How strange that we would find the same ones. I used florists wire on them. I did see lots of other cute ones too. You can really put a lot of money into these gardens if you're not careful.
They are very addiciting! zhinusmom, your granddaughter did great! Bet she loved making her own.
Love the sign - too cute! Your birdbath looks so realistic too. Very nice!
Thanks. The birdbath was purchased off ebay, but I've seen them elsewhere in dollhouse catalogs.
It is made of real metal and is either copper, or brass..not sure, but it is actually "heavy" for such a small item...they are a bit pricey. I think I haven't found them for less than $20 a piece!!
It was less on ebay, because I bought a lot assortment.

What wonderful little fantasy gardens....uh oh....think I just got bitten by a tiny little garden bug....lol...now I'm going to have to try one....
Delightful! and sooo creative. This thread really makes me smile. Lots of gifted people here.
