ah! lol.. so simple I am almost ashamed.

I did see at Home Depot this weekend, an 'EE' called 'Black Diamond" maybe they have it in your area as well?

Beulah, MS

I wish I could find a home depot here, or close by. I checked lowes, don't have any.

Gainesville, FL

The Home Depot here has Black Magic elephant ears. I have never heard of Black Diamond. There is a Colocasia Diamond Head though

so people keep telling me...LOL> but i read correctly (unless it was mis identified) it clearly said 'Black Diamond'... could it be a cross between the two?

Gainesville, FL

I suspect it may be more of a producer giving an old plant a new name in order to sell more. Does it look like Black Magic? Who was the grower? The ones at our HD are from Morningstar Nurseries

Not sure... I didnt have alot of time to read the label. there was only one and I acquiesced it to an elderly lady because she was making gaga eyes over it (Im a softee), and mostly because Im not really a 'foliage' gardener... LOL, it has to have some sort of bloom on it. BUT, because Im planning a 'Gothic' garden bed (based on a gothic wrought iron trellis someone gave me.. overactive imagination.. and love of all things dark) I was looking it over as a possible addition.
