for Mother's Day, my daughter and I made some terrariums and dish gardens. This is our first attempt at them but I think we did a pretty decent job. My dd is 8 and we had a blast.
Mother's Day terrariums
here's my daughter's. If anyone has any idea what the plant is, let me know. It was a gift from a friend who called it "the 100 year old plant" but can't find anything under that name.
I helped her with the river bed, but she did the rest herself.
They are great! What a fun time to have with your daughter! Great job!
ohhhh, I love that one. Where did you get the container? And what is that in front of the fairy? It looks very cool. I love the little baby ferns I got down by our creek. I just wish I didn't have to dress in a space suit to walk down there to avoid all the spiders and ticks and other ickies on the way. Dense woods to walk thru and I have to do it with a "spider stick" waiving in front of me to avoid walking face first into a spider web.
The fairy is one of my flower fairies. I have three or four. They are gorgeous. The Orb is a handmade glass piece from an Art show. It looks like outer space, planets etc. Amazing. About the sie of a ping pong ball. I hope to get another this year. They are not cheap, but I love them.
Hum, I can't remember where I got my terrarium. You can Google Terrariums and see how much there is to look at. There are ideas, terrariums, plants etc. Fun!
These are expensive but fun to look at! http://www.floridaplants.com/Store/pottery10.htm
oh, I love those! But your right, very expensive. I bookmarked for when I hit the lotto!
Mine was only about $35. I wish I could find where I bought it.
yeah, me too! in the mean time, I'm making due with all the jars I have left over from keeping everything in while we lived in Cali to keep the ants out of our food.
