We were blessed yesterday...about 8/10 of an inch of rain here and some areas got much more. My plants are happy...if they could dance and sing, they would be, I think!
Rain yesterday....plants perking up!
Got about the same here....slow and steady for most of the day. I bet there wasn't an oz of runoff. It couldn't have been better for the garden and wild flowers.
The cool weather today will minimize evaporation which is a good thing too.
Jerry, who just planted cream peas and sweet potato slips and whose garden is coming alive with lots of green.
It always amazes me that rain can make things grow and perk up almost instantly. Nowwe just need more.
I know y'all down south really are in desperate need of rain, so your .8 inches is great!! I'm sure your plants are super excited!!
We got about an inch of rain yesterday and I can't wait to see the results of that on my plants.
I know you guys really need it. My grandmother got about .42 in Blanco County, which they really needed.
Everything is growing like crazy here in Denton, and my back neighbors are still running their back sprinklers in the morning which means my swamp has got about a 1/2 inch of standing water in the morning. I hate it right now, but in the summer when it really needs it, it will be the only water those guys get. I just hope some of my stuff doesn't drown.
I just don't understand why people who have automatic sprinklers haven't shut them off. There's been no need for sprinkling here for several weeks.
In San Antonio sprinklers are only allowed one day a week during Level One water restrictions. They keep saying it's due to go into Level Two any time now. I'm always confused about what we're supposed to do out here, since we're on another aquifer entirely. Maybe we just follow S.A., like a little puppy following along behind the big dogs.
