Will post more later on, but, you will notice in some of the new pics that my maters have been moved around, they were getting too big and didn't have any space to breathe air or grow any bigger, so had to compensate for that by moving some of them. I also made and added a makeshift trellis mountain for my cukes in the totes to climb up. I got melon vines growing too.

WOW! You sure do have a lot of plants going. Everything looks great. What kind is that(potato leaf) with a bunch of tomatoes forming?

Ok, will try this again, I've tried to post this one 3 times already: These are baby bell peppers. Ray: I did not plant the potato top this tme round, I have the 4th of July, Brandy Boy, Burpee's Burger, (I ordered the hall of fame ones) and then had chocolate cherry toms and romas and vilmas. I've had to move them them all around because of the sudden growth spurt they have been going through.

Here are my cabbages:

My corn: I think I might have put too many in each box, even though, that is what the EB chart says, and the drain hole is on the back side - did I ever mess up there. LOL The water fill pipe is difficult to locate also, these you have to water with lots of care, so you don't break he corn stalks, I'm also thinking about planting only two heads of cabbage per box next time as they are huge this year.

I'm going to be moving that tomato with help a bit later on, as between it getting close to dragging on the ground and the cucumber tendrils wanting to hold it's hands, I'm getting a little concerned. These planters are far off the ground, cause I gotta climb on a chair to water them, of course I'm a runt though also. LOL

I was wondering about the one little tomato plant that has potato leaf foliage with fruit set on it. The one in a lay bag.

Here are my okra, finally shooting out leaves, the burgandy ones and the green ones

Ray: I believe they are either chocolate cherry or romas, not sure myself. LOL I'm trying to figure out how to stake the ones in the lay flat bags as notice how they are growing pretty tall? I tried to stick to the cherry types in the lay flats thinking I might be able to get away without staking them; but, will have to as you can see and the bags aren't thick enough to hold stakes securely. I may wind up moving them to weed cloth on the ground and then securing the stakes in the ground. I waited too long to stake one of my pepper plants and it snapped in two, it had 4 beautiful little baby peppers on it too.

I have beans but don't know if they are ready to pick or not:

Don't know what kind of beans they are either, in the previous pic, either bush beans or snow peas? Here are my Henderson lima's and don't know if they are ready to pick or not either:

Hmmm, whatever it is, it's an interesting little guy to form that many fruits at that size. I'm not sure Chocolate Cherry Toms are a Potato Leaf variety. Probably a roma then. Some have Rugose leaves, which is different than Regular and Potato leaf. I'm no expert on leaves by any means, I'm just seeing 3 different types this year....which led me to do some research. I do know Brandy Boy's are PL.

You thought Cherry tomatoes would be smaller and easier to maintain. Well, hate to tell you....they are beasts! They outgrow all of my other plants. For me, they turn into a huge, vining, hard to contain plant. Had one close to 10' and most others were 8 ft.

Great looking garden, Joy. And my experience is the same as Ray's on those cherry tomato's. They are rampant growers and producers.

Crestview, FL

jaywhacker and ray : I'm not as fond of the cherry tomatoes as I am the big meaty ones, but, I'm gonna have to rethink this small fruit sure doesn't mean small plant for sure. Some of the tomatoes seem to be bush types and aren't really growing much; but are forming fruit already. The only ones I know for sure are the ones I tagged and those all came from Burpees, and all are doing well. My peppers are forming perfectly and it has me excited. Will check with a friend of mine about the beans and peas I'm not sure about those at all. I am also thinking about having a few friends kick the boards and concrete blocks out from underneath the corn totes and then trying to turn them around so I can see the drain hole, that wasn't really smart to have the drain hole facing the fence was it? LOL

Sounds like you might have some determinate varieties Joy. Bushy, compact and set fruit all at once.

I used to hate cherry tomatoes too. Until I tried Sungold, Black Cherry and Riesentraube. They are so good and I will grow at least a couple of each every year from now on.

Crestview, FL

Ray: I have the sun gold in the revolutionary planter, and lots of the chocolate cherry ones that I grew from seed. I'm anxious to try the Brandy Boy myself as I hear that one is a good tomato; but a huge one too. LOL We had quite the rain shower and thunderstorm all day and into this evening. Usually after a good rain you see quite a bit of growth with plants. I planted a lot this season because I didn't do very well last season and wanted something for my efforts this season, and everything is going well thus far, as I remember rightly though, my first season was summer and that seems to be the worst, as that is when it is hotter and there are bugs - lots of bugs to fight with. Maybe that is why my maters haven't been bothered with the horned catepillar yet? Will post a few more pics:

Joy,
I tried to warn you about so many cabbages in one box. Next time, try ONE cabbage per eBucket. You can position it so it sits perfectly centered and will grow evenly around. And, if it gets attacked by snails/bugs, you can easily move the bucket to another spot in your yard.

Yeah, I wanna know what that little short tomato that's loaded on top in that layflat bag is too!!!

Here's the link to the pic I'm referring to.

Looking good, Joy.

Gymgirl: You are right there, I had no idea they'd be so huge. I believe it is a chocolate cherry; but, don't know for sure, if it is I will know soon and let you know ok? All my tomatoes are setting fruit now and so are my peppers and my eggplants and cukes are starting to flower. We have had nonstop rain for almost 2 weeks now, with strong winds blowing everywhere. I lost my tangerine tomato today also, the wind blew it so hard, it was in the revolutionary planter (like the topsy's), if the wind grabs that baby just right, it is all over. I didn't get to pick strawberries today because of the rain, and hoping the birds did not find them, as they have been leaving them alone, as I pick them first thing every morning. I only planted 4 bell peppers per EB this season too, and glad I did, as I see lots of baby bells on the those plants.

Joy, locate a vacuum cleaner repair store in your area and see if they have a surplus of the old, hard plastic extension hoses. My DH had several in the garage and just stuck em inside the EB tubes. They fit perfectly. And, because they're usually white makes finding 'em in the overgrowth of foliage pretty easy. Or, recut some of your fill tubes to longer lengths (maybe 22-24"). Use the short ones for new eBuckets and HEBs! Or, hit some of the garage sales and look for those vacuum cleaner extension hoses!

Crestview, FL

Gymgirl: I remember your sharing that with us and the thought popped into my head when I looked at those fill tubes the other day, especially for the corn. I'm already on it and and looking. LOL Dumby me, planted my cherry tomatoes in the topsy's and revolutionary planters and have lost two plants already, the plants' main stems have broken off, and when that happens, it's all over for the plant. This wind has really been whipping around here with the rain. It has stopped briefly, and I went outside to survey the garden. Took my trusty knife with me to unclog some drain holes on the totes. I am thinking about studying up on pruning tomatoes, and later when I get someone coming by, will get them to help me move some of the lay flat bags of toms to the weed cloth area from the table, some of those toms are getting pretty big and need more secure staking and can then drive some stakes into the ground and take some cord and whoola, they will be staked.

Joy,
I pruned my tomatoes Sunday. In doing this tedious task, I FINALLY LEARNED WHAT IT MEANS TO CUT THE SUCKERS OFF SO ONLY ONE MAIN STEM GROWS.

Sheesh! What a way to learn that lesson. Are the newbies out there listening? Are yah getting this SuperUberNewbies? ^_^ ^_^ ^_^

Crestview, FL

Gymgirl: I'm listening, please tell me more about it and how to do it, I'm sure there are other newbies who do want to know about this before they get giants in their yards too. LOL My poor garden gets rearranged daily and this wind has already killed two of my hanging tomatoes.
