What kind of tree?

Port Angeles, WA(Zone 8b)

We got three trees from Heidi last autumn. One is a sweetgum, another is a western redbud, I think. And then there's this one. Can't remember for the life of me what it is and the writing on the tag is g-o-n-e. It looks kinda like an ash or sumac, but I really haven't a clue. Any ideas? Heidi? Help?

Outta..its a "treeus -no- tagus" .Hope Heidi can help! You can plant it in the section in the garden where all the plantus unknownus go!

My yard is full of plants that had a tag and now the tag is gone or it has a tag but the ink has faded.
Makes me crazy! Good luck..it looks very pretty what ever it is!

Yep...I have many, MANY plantus cantremembername hanging around here, most of which came from GEs and other DGers. But I really hate it when I buy them and can't remember, especially since it's the first one to leaf out this spring! Harumph!

Did you dmail the photo to Heidi, or email her through her website? Pretty leaves on that one.

Redchic (our resident tree expert, I think) thought it might be a Mountain Ash of some sort. Maybe this one:

Yep...got an e-mail from Heidi yesterday morning. It's a Mountain Ash 'Pink Pagoda.' Love the name and the tree is really cute right now! Thanks!

Thanks for throwing the hat into the ring for me Katie! I wasn't positive, so I was quite hesitant.

Out of curiousity Outta...... which species is that?

Hi outta. Good to hear your voice again.

OOh, 'Pink Pagoda'! I've seen that in a couple of gardening books. It's a nice tree!

Hi to you, Willow. It's been a while since I've been on and am so far behind on the threads that I'm not even going to attempt to catch up! Good to see you, too.

Redchic ~ it's Sorbus hupehensis.

Hey Pix ~ Yeah...the pictures I've seen are pretty awesome. Can't wait to see it against the backdrop of the cedars and maples.
