There's a Hooded Oriole family in the trees! A group of baby's hanging around, but I can't tell if all of them are baby Hooded Orioles. I was thinking that three of the younger ones are female and one a male because it's already got yellow feathers. Yesterday the mom had palm fibers, looks like she's getting ready for another brood.. Here's a male Hooded Oriole!

Beautiful shots arries!!!
Thanks pelletory!
The fourth image here, I'm wondering if another bird laid eggs in the nest....lol! The beaks don't look like the Hooded Oriole..do the young females look like this?
Beautiful bird, arries, and excellent photos.
Thanks linthicum, I love taking pictures!
Pic 4, the young are Brown-headed Cowbirds, so it looks like your oriole nest got hit by them.

I just found out that Pic 4 might be House Finches. I did see a male flying around, but I thought those were sparrows, but I don't know to much about the diverse bird species. I guess they were just hanging around with the young Hooded Oriole because today they weren't hanging out together.
I read one source that the Hooded Oriole is "solitary" [may I miss read], and another saying they are social, and the parents didn't seem to mind their young one hanging out with House Finches. So cute!

Yep - I misjudged the size when I thought cowbirds (and was also half-assuming you'd seen the oriole feeding them)
