I'm originally from Los Angeles, CA and recently moved to Holland, Michigan. Now that the snow is all gone and the weather is getting better I've seen more nature in these past 2 months that I had in most of my life In los angeles!
I saw this bird in our back yard yesterday. I looks like a crane but I thought cranes have red at the top of their head. Is this some kind of crane?

looking at other pictures of the Great Blue Heron I see they are big on eating fish now it makes sense what he was doing in the back yard since there is a lot of fish in that pond
