So excited!

Kent, WA

We hatched three Seramas! We put nine in the incubator and removed three halfway through and out of the six three hatched. Due date was Wednesday. Pretty sure the other three won't hatch. But having three is SO exciting. I will post pictures later.

Actually, that's a great hatch for Seramas! I hatched 2 out of 24 and only 1 lived... So yeah.. that's fantastic! You have gotta be so jazzed.. They are like lil bumble bees huh? I'm dying to see them!
We sooo need pics!

Congratulations!

I have 3 batches in the bator now.. :)

I think the fatal gene your speaking of is with the Araucana. Don't know where you get the pic's for happy dance? but I love em. Your to much. Haystack

They say there is a lethal gene in Serama.. but I'm wondering how true it is after reading more and more about Seramas..
One thing I can say with certainty is.. Serama eggs just don't ship well at all... Home grown you would probably get near 100% With shipped eggs.. your lucky to get any to hatch. I've read that in several places from several breeders.

I feel that free range eggs have better fertility, hatch rate and chick survival.. I bought 6 eggs from a girl that lets her birds out regularly.. only 2 were TACs (scrambled after shipping) and 4 are now developing.
Asking is a gamble, since sellers can just say whatever they want.. Pictures that show the birds on the grass are what I like to see.. I was on a mission to get free ranged Serama eggs.. so we will see what happens.. I have a bator full.. development is great at this point..

ZZ's! A bator full? Full of what? Seramas! Tell me whats in your bator. It's possible you could have company. NO LOL. What's in your wallet (i mean Bator)?

Haystack.. Just Serama and Lavender Ameraucana in my bator now.. I'm done exploring and have decided what I want.. They are due Memorial Day I think..
I settled on Seramas instead of Dutch Bantams. Blue & Lavender Ameraucana to replace a flock of "olive eggers" that I hatched and they are not olive eggers.. LOL I want blue and tiny.. that's all. Cody gets the Modern game that are tall and skinny like he is..
Then there are a couple of pets.. (shamo pair & Cochin Bantam pair) Their future is questionable.. but not in danger yet.. LOL

I have a Serama Roo.. (Dot renamed Studly DoRight) that is the love of my life.. He needs a wife big time.. I almost have him trained to crow on demand.. He will jump up on my arm if I pat my forearm... but I painted my nails a wild color and he is scared of my fingers now.. LOL

I'm here! I keep forgetting to take my good camera and get some pictures and I lost my phone all weekend and could not download those pictures. My DH did find my phone for me today. It was in the FREEZER! I will try downloading those pics now. :)

Here is some photos from my phone. These were when they were a day or two old. The big black one is a day younger than the Serama's. Miranda and I named a couple of them today. The all yellow one has a couple of dots on the top of her head so she is dot. The red brownish all colored one I name Sahara. Need a name for the black and yellow still. They are so tiny. I did put a pill cup for size comparison just like ZZ did before. :)

I sent my cellphone through the washer with my jeans about 2 weeks ago.. it was toast.. Had to buy a new one.. I lost a gazillion phone numbers and all my appointments!!!! It was horrible.. The new phone has a better camera, so I like that at least..
