A great idea to put them in a hanging basket. They look great!

That is gorgeous; I've got two hibiscus coming on Friday that I am planning on putting in hanging baskets cause of their wild growth habit. I'm excited to see how wonderful yours looks. Thanks for sharing!

Actually, I can't take credit for the basket. I purchased it like this from Louisiana Nursery in Baton Rouge. The flowers came from Dupont nursery like this. I was just the lucky one who was able to purchase it before anyone else! She just blooms her heart out for me. These blooms last at least two days.

Do you know the cultivar name???

Hammond, LA

I'm not sure of the name of this hibiscus if that's what you're asking. There was not tag on the flower pot when I purchased it. I thought this was Grand Mariner from looking online at the Cajun photos but Grand Mariner has more of a white throat. Please forgive my ignorance. I have about 30 hibiscus and know who most of them are but some came without name markers. It's a major challenge trying to find their names too from photos on the Internet.

Attached is my Cajun Blue which opened for the first time on Mother's Day.

I hate when there isn't a name tag. Most of the nurseries in my area are horrible about putting name markers in stuff.

Hammond, LA

I know what you mean. Usually I won't purchase unless there's a tag but when they have something blooming that takes my breath away and I can't find a tagged one, I'll purchase it anyway. Fortunately, I have only a few who's names I don't know

Oh La La....bloomed on Mother's Day too.

What a beauty!!!! Great way to start the day.

Nice photos. Well many of them DO have tags on them. The tag usually says "Hibiscus". Isn't that all we need to know. LOL

Beautiful bloom Julianna. Not sure, but this Hib looks a bit like 'Fantasy Charm'. Snug, :o)

Thank you. I love taking photos of my Babies and some of them even turn out well!

Attached is my little Ballerina - another Mother's Day bloom. Do you think they all knew my children were far away on MD?

Which bloom are you refering to Snug? I've not purchased Fantasy Charm or at least, none that were tagged as such. I sure hope the tag on the other's I've posted were correct or I'm calling my Babies by the incorrect names!

I was referring to your photo post of today (14 May) at 1:17 PM. Fantasy Charm is a dinner-plate sized bloom -- you can also find it on Dave's Plant Photo Files under the Hibiscus category. Again, I am not sure whether it actually is this particular HIb. Perhaps, when the bloom is fully opened one can make a more acurate judgment.

Snug, :o)

That one did have a tag, Snug, and a photo tag to boot! It's name is Ooh La La from the Dupont Nursery and that was fully open. Have to laugh here as I didn't spell the name correctly the first time.

Black Jack - another Cajun but didn't hold it's bloom longer than one day

Wow! That basket is truly a beauty. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you LhasaLover. Yesterday, I had more than 20 blooms on her. I'm absolutely amazed each day at this basket.

20 blooms! I can not even imagine such a thing.. and I was jumping with joy for 10 blooms on my monster 5 ft garden variety plant... LOL It must have been a wonder to behold! Wish I could have seen it.

Hammond, LA

I'll post the photos tomorrow. Have to load them onto my desktop computer.

juliana57, that hibiscus basket looks gorgeous, I imagine that with 20 bloom on it you can't even see the foliage on it, can't wait to see the photo you took of it.

Trying to get all the blooms in one photo was the tough part as it's blooming all around! I'll get it posted tomorrow, I promise! I only have my camera software on my desktop and am working on my laptop now.
