Do you mean Actinidia Kolomikta?

If so, and you're unable to find it elsewhere, I have it, but would have to ground layer to propagate, which could take a while.

I have to ask.. what is that spotted EE.. does it grow in a pot? I love it!

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

That is Halo Beauty
and yes it grows in a pot
its growing in one now

It's "HILO" Beauty not Halo Beauty. Its an aroid that has been classified variously as an alocasia, a colocasia and a caladium. Lari Ann would probably know for certain, but at last count I think they had decided it was a caladium, taxinomically.

Emory, TX(Zone 8a)

I know it as HiLo Beauty and it was sold to me as an EE. I do not know whether is was marked alocasia or colocasia. I have had mine for over 2 years. I wouldn't have thought it was a caladium, but I would have to defer to the experts!

force of habit
your right , Sorrrrrrry , = )

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Yes they are sold as EE's
I think Alocasia

Gainesville, FL

EE's (Elephant ears) are all aroids, LOL, whether they are alocasia, colocasia, xanthosoma, etc. Just as Anthuriums and philodendrons are all aroids.

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

True Goth, but I think what poster was refering to was the Genus, Alocasia or Colocasia. I believe its Alocasia, but not sure.

Gainesville, FL

I think the reason that they have never been able to actually assign Hilo Beauty to a genus is that it doesn;t bloom. That was what I read some years ago when the debate about what it was was raging. SInce it doesn;t bloom they can't accurately taxonomically ID it so it gets labeled as all sorts of things

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

hmmm interesting

I've got to read up on more of this

Thanks for the Info

I would like some kiwi kiwi also..I read u need 2 plants ???

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

You need at least 1 male plant but can then pollinate at least 2 or 3 female vines... they get big!

(don't have any, though, sorry.)

if enough people are interested, maybe you can get a good wholesale deal?

Emory, TX(Zone 8a)

Uh, we are not all on the same page... LOL The Kiwi being discussed, is an aroid (even though we are not sure which one). It is not a vine... SOunds interesting though. I think I will look up kiwi kiwi ...

Pinellas Park, FL(Zone 9b)

I don't find any mention in the original request for an EE called KIWI.
The aroid being discussed is the hilo beauty in the picture. That is not the KIWI being requested.

Its my request, I was asking for a tradeof:

Kiwi (fruit ) for listed items, one being an EE that some one liked and asked
about and I misspelled the name and it started a conversation about it by another poster.

think thats how it went ,LOL

Oh, I am so sorry! Sylvia, I thought you wanted the EE in the picture. I totally misunderwtood! Again I am sorry!

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Its all good gurl.
the thread kinda took on a life of its own at some point , LOL

Yeah, I guess it did! All of the questions and comments got me thouroughly confused, which is easy to do lately. My Mother is getting altzheimers and I was with her for 3 weeks until last Tuesday and I have not recovered yet! LOL

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I'm sorry about your mom... that's a tough situation.

I saw this thread was "closed." Did you find your kiwi, or are you still looking? I checked with my favorite mail order fruit places (Miller's and Stark Bros), but they only carry the smaller "hardy" kiwi. Raintree has them, though (I haven't ordered from them yet, but check their reviews in GWatchdog; I think they have a good rep). http://www.raintreenursery.com/catalog/producttype.cfm?producttype=ACTI

Critter:

I havent found one yet.
Someone has a nursery in Titusville Fl . He has offered to get me some on his
next plant run. I just dont know the cost yet

I'll check out what you've suggested so I have an option .

Thanks much

These were also offered in the Agrostarts coop. Agrostarts is in FL. You'd have to order a bunch but the people in the coop who've gotten their plants are very happy with them

Another option you might check out.

For some reason I thought I posted here. I have some coming from the agristarts co-op. I am getting 3 male and 3 female and would be glad to trade 1 male and 1 female with you. they are plugs and will have to make sure they could travel right back out without harm to them.

LMK but they are not here yet.
