Best Plants to Grow to Attract Hummers.

What are the best plants to grow to attract hummingbirds?
Thanks,

Hi Chuck,

I grow a red honeysuckle that starts blooming in mid-March, just before the hummers arrive. That is about the only plant that will bloom that soon here. It really brings them in. Others they seem to like are cardinal climber and cypress vine, red salvia, Drummond's hibiscus (aka turk's cap), cigar plant, and mimosa trees. The feeders always help too!.

Appreciate the feedback sir.. I noticed most hummingbird feeders are strung on a wire. Is there a reason for this? I just planted some black/blue Salvia last night.

Beebalm or Monarda is a big hit in my yard. The B & B salvia is a winner too.

Chuck,

The wire is more durable than string--so I'm guessing that's why the feeders come with it.

Nice shot Mark!!! When they get used to cameras and you, they will let you pretty close.

Thanks Sheila,

I let them get used to me for a few days, and after that they didn't care at all.
