How about an Information STICKY for this forum?

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

I have been searching for information such as best soil conditions, pH, temps for growing, pollinating.. saving pollen, which ones do well for hybridizing for beginners etc... it sure would be nice to have a sticky with some basic information and links. I am gradually learning this and that but frequently need to go back and look things up.

Anyone up for it or know how to go about putting together that information and getting it up. It sure would be nice and handy for us beginners.

What do those of you with experience think.. is it all experienced people here or are there any other beginners besides me? I sure hope I am not the only vouyer here who wants to learn more and try out these beauties.

I'm a beginner too and would love a sticky. I've gone through a number of threads already but having all the info in one place would be great!

I agree; I've spent lots of time websurfing, trying to gleem info on hibiscus, mainly the hybrids. Would love to have info on propagating too.

Now if we can just find the experience who's willing to help or even links to websites that give good instructions on things. Would love more info!!!!

There's a good chance that there's already a good thread or two in this forum somewhere--maybe some people who are interested in having a thread like this could take the time to look through some old threads and see if there's one already there with the desired info? Or even if it doesn't have everything, I'm sure there's a thread that has a good start and could be added to vs starting from scratch. Maybe there isn't anything, but it's probably worth looking.

We have 2 "stickys" in the daylily forum that are VERY helpful - I ordered hibiscus thru the co-op 1AnjL did, and would love to make sure I'm doing things right - I'm really new to hibiscus also - in the daylily forum - different people added different things - it just stays at the top of the forum

I think a Hibbie Sticky would be extremely helpful

Go to

www.trop-hibiscus.com/
Look at the left hand column and you will find all kinds of growing info for tropical hibiscus.

Thanks for the link, Kyle. I saved it to my favorites and will look at it when I'm not too tired from being outside all evening, piddling with the plants.
