CLOSED: Mother of thousands

Saint Cloud, FL(Zone 9b)

I am pulling them out. They're all over the yard. However, if someone is interested in having some, I can send them over. I can't say they're the most tended to beautiful plants, but even if you think the mother plant is not good enough, it will have thousands of babies very quickly! Anyone who wants them: I just want the value of postage. (We have stamps, so I'd like check or paypal payment or something like that.) Just dmail me if you're interested.

If you are pulling them out, others will be too, LOL. I finally managed to ***almost*** eradicate them here after, oh, 5 years.

They are nice for people in colder zones to use as houseplants. They are nice that way. Just not too nice in a hot FL yard

You're right. I just heard some people have been wanting them, I thought: what the heck. At least they know what they could be in for...... I'm going to throw them out soon, because I was in the middle of clearing an area when I thought of this. I don't want to keep sitting on them.

There will be people who will love to have them.

I have them in one area where they can be well contained. They make a great bed filler with the pretty red blooms later on. My mistake was letting them escape...I planted some in an area that was, shall we say, 'endless'? And they just kept going.

I have seen some beautiful mixed bowls of succulents using these. I know someone will want some.

That is a smart plan. Yes, the blooms are truly impressive, so I can understand why people like them, in addition to their interesting appearance. It's just that when you have 9000 of them and they try to overtake the earth (haha) it's a bit much!

I had some that had planted themselves out INSIDE my bromeliads growing nearby..... LOL

Haha! Frisian lady, de mijne groeit op takken, in de ananas ernaast, en ook op andere planten! It grows on anything- including in between pineapple leaves and on branches of other plants. oh, my. I just about have to throw out my topsoil layer in order to eradicate this plant! I should feel honored, I guess, it really LooooVES me! LOL

I have another one that seeded itself here too...its not supposed to be hardy but a seed blew in from somewhere and rooted in a protected locale by the house. It gets about 3-4 ft tall and has big wide fleshy leaves (sorry no pic). That one would probably also go to town where you guys live, its just cold enough in winter here to keep it in check, but its a nice one too. I wish I knew its name.

LOL Dutchlady you are right, these will grow on anything. I have one that rooted into a crack in the pool deck under the wrought iron table that is growing literally in about a teaspoon of sand. It grows right under the circle where the umbrella goes, and looks cool so I have never pulled it out.

I'll divy up the ones I saved to the people who've dmailed me... The rest are in the trash tomorrow. 4 trashbags I could not lift by myself! :D If you're really desperate, dmail me and maybe I still have one or two left over after filling the boxes! :)
