Any ideas how to get a crepe myrtle to look like this?

What seems to have been is the tree was twisted together when it was young to form a single trunk. I think?

amazing crape myrtle...thanks for posting it...does look like it would have to have been twisted even up into the branches...those folks down there have some incredible plantings...virginia

Flower tour going on at the moment. Place is planted to the hilt and many of their permanent landscaping is in bloom. The big boys were doing their thing.

Disney World in Orlando, I'll bet!!

Look at HGTV's website--I saw a show on there about them setting up the flower show. I bet they rerun it. Won't give you the answer on your tree, but still fun to watch. I, too, think they gradually twisted it as it grew. Very cool effect.

Yes, they did twist it when it was young. My DS has one that she twisted when it was young but the diameter of hers is smaller than the one you are showing.

so how was Disney and how many seeds did you release from captivity? LOL

Part one of the plan worked. Not many people in the parks this time of year. Part deux not so much, it should have been in the 80's and not very humid. Saturday I think Orlando broke their record at 97 degrees. At least it wasn't humid.

Had a good time and I also have friends who live in Orlando so we get to do some adult fun after the parks.
