Nice photos Jon. I wish we could sprinkler water/fertilize more often down here, especially during the summer. We've been under 4-8 AM or PM water restrictions only on Wedn Or Sat for almost a year and a half now and the State Of Florida is thinking about making the restrictions permanent. The only way around it down here is to hand water everything.

Thanks Patty, Wilfred and Jon

I would think a drip system would save water. CA might be next in line for water restrictions. We have not had a good rain in a few years. I might end up in the same situation as you.

Carolina, PR(Zone 11)

I'm hearing a lot of people saying that they having rain shortage in there area, that happen a few year ago in my area, so what a lot of people here re-curd to buying some big 500gal. tank to collect the rain water that fell from the roof when it rained uniting all the water spout into one PVC pipe to the tanks. I have four of these thank right now and they fill up quit fast from just one rain fall and with some filters and a pump the water is just great for the plants and other things. Remember to put a screen on the entrance of the pipe to avoid mosquitoes or other insects from getting in the water supply. This also help in reducing our water bills by more than half of what we use to paid for. Ironically after a lot of people got the water tanks to compensate for the water shortage, it rains almost every day now. sometimes too much.

What a beautiful Hibiscus you have in Black Jack! Love the color and shape of the petals. My Cajun Black Jack is so different but equally as beautiful.

What a beautiful deep magenta throat against the white petals! You sure have another beauty Paczona.

My Black Jack photo is at the very bottom of my hanging basket thread. I didn't want to post my photo on your thread.

Los Angeles, CA(Zone 10b)

Thanks Juliana

Maybe someone on here would know the parentage between it and High Voltage as they are so similar.
The Black Jack you have is the same as mine. I took the pic in the moning and there was some backlight behind the bloom.

Wish I had a French Connection, Wish I had a French Connection, Wish I had a French Connection, who know, maybe if I wish for one long enough It'll pop up magically, yea right like that can happen, LOL.
paczona, your French Connection is gorgeous, Like Juliana, love that deep magenta throat it has.

Nice photos Jon. Where did you find Richard Johnson's "Tahitian" cultivators? Is "Nikita" from Hidden Valley?

Jon

Carolina, PR(Zone 11)

Love that "Tahitian Princess" Jon, the color are nice, soft and tranquilizing. Is it a prolific bloomer, I could imagine a nice sized hibiscus bush filled with them babies. And that "Tahitian Blushing Sun" reminds me of the tropics, great photos Jon.

Thanks Jon and wilfred,

Thanks for the info Jon. I had a feeling those "Tahitian" ones might be from Florida through an online retailer. Thanks for posting "White Diamonds". I've heard/read lots of good things about that one and noted it's been winning some awards at Hibiscus Shows.
