Goats broke my plum trees!!

3rd year running --2 kids broke out and cracked a 5 year old plum tree. The trunk is split down the middle --good green going up one side but any idea how to split, repair, and try to save this? The trunk is about 1.25" -only about (not quite)3/4" left solid.... pleeeease? having a meltdown.......

I had goats get into my yard ( my goats ) and kill a couple of plum trees.. just makes you sick, even if they are your goats and you are fond of them.

I doubt if you can save your tree.. But you might try to tape it together.. Is it a grafted tree?

You may get sprouts around the base that you could graft onto?
