Looking for Poplar Tulip Trees

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

My DH wants about 5 more Poplar tulip trees andmy local source is no longer a source. Does't matter if their small. They'll grow. Let me know what you want in trade. I have alist about a mile long I can trade for these trees.

If I go and scout my area, I'm pretty sure I can come up with a few. Kathy I'm not up to digging up plants in the wild. But if the price is right we maybe able to make some arrangement. lol.

Just so happen one of my children has expressed interest in planting those in his garden. They're beautiful trees!

My Husband wants them because they grow Tremendously fast and he wants to shade the front of the shop with them. My other poplar tulip isn't big enough yet to drop seed and produce new plants yet I guess. Even though it's way taller than the house and does flower.

What kind of plants are you interested in ? It's so much easier for me to give a list after I know what the person wants. cause I have tons of everything. now's a good time to divide it all too.

I can't make any promise at this point. Because I have no idea how deep is the taproot if any on these plants? Let's keep me on the back of your burner for now. Unless if no other alternative, then I'll be heading out with the pick and dig up some seedlings as experimental project, just for learning experience of it.

Here's a couple of 2 year olds that were about l2 inches tall when I planted them, had to put stakes around them so I wouldn't cut them down they were so tiny. And they've had the top ate out of them several times by the deer. Still growing strong, and taller than me .

I wish I had some in the woods here, I'd be digging them up. We have tons of redbuds, but they do'nt grow fast enough for DH .

Thanks though, I'm sure I'll get some replies, or at least I hope I do

here's the other one that's 2 years old

It's a great tree! If their growth rate is surpasses redbuds, boys! That's fast. Thanks Kathy for sharing that with me. Best wishes. Now I know what I'm giving my son for his graduation.

Trees? Yes, they do grow alot faster than redbuds. I have tons of red buds here.

Yes, Tulip Poplar. If I were to give monetary gift it would be long spent. But if we plant a tree? It's family tree. :-)

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

That's a good idea.

Let me wait on tortoiskeeper, to see if she is going to get me some, like to get them all at one place to save me on shipping, if she can't, I'll dmail you. thanks

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

Well, we went out to look for some trees today and couldn't find any, so Betty, what ever you can come up with, i'll take off your hands. I'd love it if you could find some taller than l2 inches or so. but still small enough to ship without too much shock to them. Let me know if you find any, so I can ask karen for some LOL

Mobile, AL(Zone 8b)

It has been raining all day. I should be able to find some more than 12". Will check first thing in the morning.

Mableton, GA(Zone 7a)

My yard is littered with seedlings. I weed them out daily. I can be on the lookout for any that are a bit bigger if you want. Just let me know. I don't need anything in return.

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

Gosh, How come my yard doesn't have them, I have a big enough tree to produce babies LOL. I'll let you know sometime today when Betty gets back with me, I only need 4 or 5 trees to shade the shop with .

Mobile, AL(Zone 8b)

I found lots but all are growing out of the roots of the tree. Please can someone else help KathyAnn.

Betty
