Saw these birds yesterday checking out this vent (construction guys will be notified today). Swallow-like shape and behavior. The only thing I can find of this coloration in Sibley's is the Northern Rough Winged. Pictures are not good enough to see the wing pattern
CLOSED: What Swallow
I'd agree with Northern Rough-winged Swallow. From what I can tell, a rather unusual nest site for the species - seems they usually dig holes in sand banks. Maybe they heard about all the bank collapses ;-)

Interesting. She lives along a creek, so maybe all the sand banks are full. ha. This vent was just put in for a bathroom remodel going on.
Thanks

There is an old historic Iron Forge near my place. Norhtern Rough Winged Swallos nest in the crevices of an old stone wall there, in some sort of tube like opening in the wall. It is very similar to modern bathroom vents, maybe they will adapt to start using these openings....

This is all very interesting. I'll have to pay more attention to the area where she lives. I know of one sand bank, not very large, maybe 6-8 feet. I'll check tomorrow.
