Moving an amaryllis

Frisco, TX(Zone 8a)

My amaryllis is done blooming for the year and I really need to move it sometime this year.Should I wait until fall? Move it now before it gets too hot? Any tips greatly appreciated.. thanks

I would wait until the fall. The amaryllis will spend the summer gathering the energy it needs to bloom next spring. Moving it now would interrupt that process and you might end up with smaller or no flowers next year. Moving it now means it has to struggle to get established in the heat. If you have to move it now, move it with as much of the surrounding soil as possible.

It can wait until fall then. I have it behind a plant that is now a baby and will hide it as time passes and it grows, so I thought I'd move it to give everyone more room.
