I robbed some eggs from the duck nests in my yard when the eggs started to pip. There are so many predators in and around the creek they seldom have any survivors when left to Mom. There is also a huge imbalance of drakes to hens right now. There is one hen with 3 duckings and she had to fly off and leave them because 5 drakes were on her. The neighbor is going to shoot some of the drakes.
Look what's in my brooder!
beauty, Cajun........send some my way? (ok so well I have to get my chickens under control first....lol)
Oh how cute!!!! Good SAVE!! I just love their lil faces..
They are so cute, what is it about babies? They always make me melt. Babies of any kind make me emotional. Can someone please help me. Haystack
They are quickly growing out of their cute stage. It doesn't take ducks long to get gangly looking.
Awww, they are so cute. I counted 18, did I miss any? Or add some? Are they mallards?
19? There's an extra bum in the middle that doesn't seem to belong to anybody. I just want to pet them and pet them and pet them.
There are actually 20 of them. They are mallards.
Oh! My first -and only bird pets - were Mallards (until this past Saturday) ;). We lived on a river with a small pond near that they hung out in. I wish I had a pond now!
Good job mama duck!

Think she will get mad if the ducks take it over??? hehehe
Mine would be! :o
Learning to share is an important life lesson. :)
Lead on, Oh Great Lady..........show us how YOU share the pool with 20 ducks............... I'll watch and learn....;P
I only enjoy the hot tub and I don't think I could convince them it wasn't a soup pot. LOL
