Yellow-breasted Chat

Not a great picture but the Chat is so difficult to photograph because they like to skulk and hide. I had stopped to take a pic of another bird and I suddenly heard this awkward flapping sound and I turned and saw this Chat. If any of you have ever seen them fly, well...let's just say they are not the most graceful of birds (maybe that's why I like them) LOL

I was thinking about the Yellow-breasted Chat today. I have identified one place that I can go and hear that unique call. I don't always get a photo because when I'm here, he's there, or vice-versa. I'll have to visit that site soon especially when it warms up. A great bird !!!

They do have a very unique call and I believe they can throw their voices to make you think they are one place when they are really in another or at least it seems that way to me. The Chat is the bird that got me interested in birding in the first place so they'll always be special to me.
