I was Lowe's yesterday and they had a whole pallet of gorgeous hibiscus plants. However, there was a white mold/fungus on top of the soil in almost all of the pots. Anyone know what it is? Do you think I could get away with scraping the white stuff off, then dousing it with a fungicide to finish off anything that's left? The plants themselves looked healthy - glossy, firm, lots of new growth, etc., but I didn't want to spend $18 on a plant that was doomed.
Thanks ~

Are you sure it was mold? Could have been minerals from the water or something. Usually when I see a white film on top of pots it's something like that vs mold.
I didn't think of that, I'll take a closer look the next time I'm there! Thanks!
