one brug

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

my daughter wants one even though she has seen me lose all mine this winter and due to the tornado that went though a few weeks ago.

i am looking for a very simple one that is easy to care for and bloom very easily. not picky on color or anything. and comes with instructions to the thing as i have had no luck even though in part shade gets plenty of fertilizer and everything. the ones in the ground dont even look like they survived as dont see any sign of life.

any suggustions help welcome big time

there was an ad in the classified by Flowerjunkie. she was offering some rooted cuttings for sale anywhere from $5 to $10. I bought isabella and Strawberry Cream, they seem to be doing very well and ive never grown them. perhaps you should check it out?

Flowerjunkie was also kind enough to send instructions along with her rooted cuttings. very helpful. I followed them and have had very good results.

My Dr. Seuss standard, has a sprout coming up from the ground. If you are willing to pay postage, you can have it. Most of my Brugs are in 1 gallon pots because I had to start from scratch late in 2007. The rest have growth that is too young to cut right now.

There are also reasonably priced Brugs for sale at the MarketPlace.

Don't give up on the ones in the ground. They may surprise you by sprouting. Is the shade they were in afternoon shade? What kind of soil were they in? While Brugs like moist soil, Brugs planted in heavy clay soil may rot if the water takes too long to drain and dry out. Please provide more information about how you cared for the Brugs and what symptoms they exhibited before biting the dust.

Meanwhile take time to go through some of the older posts that concentrate on growing them. Also the two groups we are not supposed to mention, have some excellent growing information.
