This is our bottle lamb, Oliver. I can't believe how often he pees and how much volume he produces for such a little guy. I suppose being on a liquid diet will do that to you. :)
He was the second lamb born but there was such a long time gap between when the first lamb was born and when Oliver was that his mother didn't recognize him as hers. So we will raise him ourselves and eventually wether him. He's got really thick fleece for a newborn - some of it is an inch long already!
Meet Oliver, aka Sir Pees-a-lot
Oh would you look at that face!!?? Too cute! I'm sorry you had to bottle feed, but he sure is healthy looking!
So adorable! I know bottle lambs can be hard, but it's neat how well they bond to you. I have such trouble patting any of our lambs this year - they are all very skittish! I wish I could get them to be more comfortable and friendly.
How sweet :)
What a cutie patootie...
Isn't he? He's growing fast too. Not so gangly looking anymore.
It's amazing how fast they fill out. How's he doing? It's nice when they stop bottle feeding at night. I love my bottlebaby. She's almost 4 months old now and still insists on a hug every morning!
What....do you do? Do they stay inside at night?
Everyone is in at night. Too many predators around. My next door neighbor lost a lamb last week to a coyote.
She's not getting a bottle anymore but I think she figures I'm mama! After letting everyone out of the barn, if I don't pay enough attention to her, she will run in front of me and lean her body against my legs. I'll kneal down and she rests her chin on my shoulder!
I took a video of Oliver today while we were outside letting our ram roam around and eat weeds and brush. Oliver hung out with us and Jake the dog. :)

Oh, he's beautiful. What a nice coat he has.
