I took these plumie cuttings on March 23rd. Any idea how long before they start getting leaves and can go in the ground? I plan on planting them at my church and would like them to look like plumies instead of twigs before I plant them.
Thanks!

Plumie Cutting Question
Thank you!
Patty, Just a thought,You could plunge plant them now and stake the large one .That way your percentage of success would increase greatly.Come back next spring and replant and remove the pots and be amazed with how big the roots had gotten.I think in my mind the only reason I could justify the double work would be the increase success rate you would have. You could even take a razor knife and split sides in a few place to allow more of the root system escape the pot after it developed and just leave the pot on.I have several that have done just that without the slits and are now over 8 feet tall .I've had to move a few of them because I planted them to close to the house and roots just broke the pot anyway. Just a thought. Don
good thought and suggestion don! that way you don't disturb the roots phughes.
Okay thanks for the suggestion. I just plant it pot and all then. How hard is it to get the pot off next spring????
