I recieved a few hyacinth plants for Easter....can I plant them now? I usually slow down on the watering and let the tops die off in the pots then I take them out of the pot and replant in the ground in October. Can I just plant them in the ground now and let them grow a little and the tops will soon die off like the other bulbs I already have in the ground?
planting hyacinth bulbs now
Well, I plant mine out of the pots after they bloom. I don't wait until Fall, but I don't know if that's the best way.
I think it works OK, though, if you have them in a bed that isn't watered a whole lot in the summer.
I would give them a little bulb food or good fertilizer mixed well into the hole.
Thanks! I will try that. I do have a nice spot to plant them that I don't water. Thanks again.
