cute bird story

My 18 year old daughter laughed so hard and has to try this next time she comes out.

Yesterday morning I was sitting on the swing with my bird song book. Played the calls of the black capped chickadees and boy were they 'talking to the book'. Then as soon as I played the oriole song, he would fly away right away and then come around the back and sit in the tree again. Did this for about 10 minutes. Then I wondered if I should be doing that so I quit. It was really cute listening to the chickadees. They are one of my favorite birds.

When I first brought the book out I was looking up the wren calls because I keep hearing this bird and I am not sure what it is. I think last year I went through he same thing with the same call and finally saw a wren but I don't quite remember.

That is funny Lynn! What book is it?

It is a big book that is called bird songs. It has a player on the side and plays each birds call. The down side is that it does not play all the calls. I already had one then my mom got me one for christmas. My five year old loves to play with it. The front cover has a pic of an oriole and kingfisher and is by Les Beletsky.
