Alice gave my this but I believe she is out of town. Looks like an iris but what kind of iris gets 6 foot tall?? That's a yard stick in the middle of it and seems to be still growing.
Can anyone ID this????
Kind of looks like Louisiana iris. The leaves on mine that are blooming are about 4'.
I'm still here - leaving tomorrow morning. Have spent the past few days moving containers into the irrigation system area and setting up drip and other supplemental systems on individual timers where needed. It was a minor engineering feat but everything seems to be getting the appropriate amount of water at the moment. I refuse to think about our water bill next month. Our big system has a moisture sensor but these many little ones do not. Late tonight I will put out all the smelly organic fertilizer that the dog likes to roll in. My hopes are that by the time we return it will all be washed in to the soil.
Those are definitely Louisiana Iris I gave you. They will have either yellow or pale blue flowers and should be about to bloom if they haven't already. You are obviously taking very good care of them - perhaps a bit too much fertilizer since they have so much foliage????
They haven't bloomed yet but they aren't in full sun either. They get sun from about 12 till sun down. Could be fert, I hit the crepe mrytle pretty good this spring.
So you gave my a plant Stono has running wild around his pond and can't get rid off?
Have a nice trip. Hopefully you're not sprreading swine flu to a new area. LOL.
Well think positively. You are supposed to have grasses and plants surrounding any body of water. They filter the contaminants and prevent water pollution. Those snakes you are tying to prevent actually prevent diseases by killing off the rats. Just stomp around a lot when you are nearby. Snakes don't like stompers. LOL
i was fixing to say those look like my flags and they do get that tall.
