Anthurium veitchii in Semi Hydro

A couple of months back when I first got this plant it was in
a 4 inch pot and needing to move up. Being confined to the
(small) greenhouse at the time I made a decision to just throw
it into a clay orchid pot with LECA.

Since then it grew so much that today I put into the last pot
it should need and also semi hydro. The two best things I
have noticed about growing it in LECA are:

1) How easy it is to control the moisture to the roots,
2) How much the roots (and plant!) had grown in it.

It was toppling it's orchid pot. I put it in a much larger
one as that is how it is done with semi. I'm impressed.

Very nice! Next best thing to planting in the ground.

Alison,

That's quite interesting, as I've thought often that many Anthuriums require culture very similar to that of orchids. Your method seems to appeal to the plant, and that's a great little discovery.
