I am so excited. I planted some Achimenes tubors about three weeks ago and I noticed this morning they are breaking the surface. I am so excited. They will have red blooms. I just had to share with someone out there that would understand my excitement. Have a great day.

Be sure to pinch them when they get big enough so they branch out and make lots of bloom! I love achimenes! I ordered some yellow ones this year from Kartuz, I hope they grow well and multiply! Where did you get your red ones?
Any one else grow achimenes? Some one gave me a pot of purple ones a couple years ago and I just loved them.

tish, I love them. Never "got into" them like streps but have had a basket of the generic purple ones for years. this year, I too bought some from Kartuz, so I appreciate the pinching tip.
