Agapanthus in Texas - sun or shade?

(Carole) Cleveland, TX(Zone 9a)

I'm not sure exactly which variety I have, but I saw something on another site that said partial to full shade... and I thought they were full sun here in Texas.

My first year for them. Any suggestions?

In Florida, a climate that is similar to Texas, morning sun/afternoon shade gives the best results.

I have also seen them growing under deciduous trees (like a Crepe Myrtle) and they seemed happy. I think the key, when growing in the shade, is to make sure they are not in deep shade (like under a Live Oak).

Great! Good info, Dale. Much appreciated.
I'll be moving mine tomorrow evening!
