First ginger planting

San Angelo, TX(Zone 7b)

I just received my first gingers - Curcumas -- and I'm not sure how to plant them. I've read the discussions and decided on a bed that gets morning sun and afternoon shade, but my plants are bare-root rhizomes (?) and I don't know how deep to place them. Today or tomorrow will be a great day to plant after the nice RAIN we've had the past couple of days (Yay!)

Thanks,

Cathie

2 to 3 inches deep.

Thanks - I'll get the remainder in the ground this morning. 3 of my five had some growth, so I could pretty well tell, but the other 2 were a mystery. Funny that in all the books, etc, that I have, not one told me the planting depth! I'm excited about trying these!
