Found in Backyard Calgary

Any ideas, I had thought red sparrow, but the beak is wrong

A good find for Calgary, as far as I can tell from the small scale of the maps available, Calgary is a little to the north of where they usually occur.

House finches have been here for at least a decade, as year-round residents. (We've lived here since 1996 and have seen them since then.) I don't know when the earliest breeding records were, but we've had them breeding in our area for a few years.

At first I was thinking house finch as well, but something doesn't look right about it. Maybe I'm just thinking too hard
