My parents bought me the space-saver 6 model and I grew basil, dill, oregano, thyme, mint and chives. It is pretty fool-proof and I enjoyed growing these herbs right there in my kitchen. The chives, however, did not grow well and I have heard other people say they had similar (bad) luck with the chives using this system.
The main "con" is that the aero gardens are not cheap. $80? That's a great deal and I am glad I found this thread! You just saved me about $40 or so. I am buying one for my sister and her husband.
I hope they are still offering them; they were featured a month ago. Tuesday Morning does not usually offer the same things on a regular basis.

Update: as chance would have it, I managed to purchase the Aero Garden using the link at the top of this thread! Ardesia- I was a little worried there for awhile after reading your post because I was not too familiar with Tuesday Morning and I just sort of "jumped in" chasing this deal. But according to the FedEx shipping tracker, the Aero Garden will arrive at its destination Monday. My cc was also charged $80 + tax.
I clicked on the Tue AM link today and the ad is still up...go figure.
