I had a neighbor who has a chicken farm give me a large container of dried Chicken poo and was wondering about making a tea from it. I like to use liquids so I can spray my plants instead of working it in the soil. I am not sure how much to put to a gal of water. Dont want to burn the plants up. He cleaned out the chicken barns and it is really like dust now.

Sami, if it is well aged then go ahead and use it, either incorporated into the soil or make a leach (or tea) with it. I'd use a half a shovelful for a five gallon bucket but if you are wanting only a gallon at a time then kind of figure it up from my measurements, especially if you choose to let it steep for a few days.
Remember when using manures to be extra careful when eating what it comes in contact with. I"m cautious about using it on crops like lettuces, chard, greens, etc.
It would work fine (and much safer) on other plants (tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, etc) especially if you use it before any of those fruit develop and are only spraying it on the foliage to help get the plants going well.
I wouldn't be shy about using as a soil drench, it will really aid good bacteria growth in your soil. Remember, more often than not it's better to feed the soil and let the soil feed the plant.

That's great!! I hope to watch your progress with them. Jo
Oh thank you so much Shoe I was beginning to think that everyone was avoiding me. I dont have any veggies planted yet I just wanted to put the poo on the soil around my plants. I will do like you said and put it in a 5 gal bucket and let it steep for a while.
