These little dolls are 3-4 days old. Still sleeping lots.

Wow! What a great shot! I was wondering, do you use a flash, and if so, does it seem like it bothers them? I don't have a great house like that where the top comes off, but I could possibly get a shot through the hole, but I was worried about the flash. My Eastern Bluebirds just fledged yesterday! I only could get a picture of them peeking out.
Yes, I used a flash, but they never seemed to notice. I have been replacing my old boxes with ones that open easily. A local man makes them for $12!! With the old boxes, I use a screw driver to open and check the boxes. I don't think you could get a good picture through the hole. The nest is usually too low. If your box's top has a screw (or 2), tap on the box to run the parent off and then open it up to take a quick picture. No harm will be done.
No, Mima56, I do not agree. Leave them alone, do not upset them for photos. GM
Some say the flash can hurt the young birds eyes, even though they won't open their eyes until they are 9 to 10 days old.
Thanks for the tips.
Very cute Mima!
