Success with Ylang Ylang seedlings.

Sarasota, FL

Saw these coming up last week. The tags says that I planted them in Dec. I squeezed them out of the fruits and dried them for about 5 days. I just pressed them into the surface of the soil and covered them with leaves. The pot's been in the shade of 3 gallon jasmine plants which are in full sun.

O boy that i lived in a warm place! neon green thumb you have. do you have seeds to barter?

Sarasota, FL

No seeds, yet. The trees will start flowering soon and get fruits after mid summer. They often do a 2nd batch by winter.
The biggest bummer is the next day, most of those seedlings were chewed by a caterpillar. They'll still live, tho.
Never see caterpillars on the adult trees!

please announce when you have seeds! (if you want to :) ) in the meantime, make up a caterpillar voodoo doll...
