What is this?

Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I just discovered this growth on my H. kerrii. I got it as a two-leaf cutting that I rooted last fall. This spring a third leaf grew very quickly and now there is this growth. Could it be a penduncle?

Thanks. Sarah

Could be!!!!

That would be very exciting, particularly on a young cutting. I got several mature hoyas last year and not one seems to have a penduncle. So frustrating. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

It must be the season for kerri to bloom. My kerri had peduncles and also the varigated kerri has too. This will be the first blooms for me on these two plants.

How exciting. If it is a penduncle, and the blooms don't blast, this will be my first hoya bloom ever. Now That is exciting!

Just make sure that the plant is not under anything that will be stained by the dripping nectar. H. kerrii blooms drip a lot for me.

Thanks for the tip, Mike. I've read about that before, but had forgotten about that.
