This is also posted under pests. Sorry for double post but I need help before I kill my whole growroom full or tropicals, tomatoes, and Brugs....
Every year in spring when I increase grow lights and fertilizer I get a whitefly explosion. Have tried the less aggressive methods and not willing to lose all plants to the buggers. I read an article that said they used Bifen and Nylar mix and that killed adults AND disrupted growth of eggs. I believe when I convert the Bifen I get about 1/2 teaspoon for 1 gallon of spray but I can't find dilution for Nylar on ornamentals. Anyone have experience with this?
Hope this helps somebody else too,

Bifen-Nylar mix for greenhouse whiteflies- Help!
For anyone that sees this later I did an experiment...Hope it works. Used: Bifen 1/2 teaspoon and Nylar 1/2 oz in 1 gallon sprayer. Tested it out on Brugs, tropicals, and few tomatoes. The strength I used was for ornamentals for Bifen and half the strength they said to use for spraying surfaces with Nylar.
I'm sorry you didn't get a reply. I had not heard of those pesticides before your post. I live so far from any sizable city that I don't have much of a white fly problem. Mites are the ones that bug me. LOL
I am not sure what is in it but I have tried and and had very good luck with regular old house spray for flys. When ever I saw any I sprayed. No more in the grenhouse so far.
bettydee,
Last year I ordered Forbid 4F for mites and it WORKED. There is an article at: http://www.chattanoogarose.org/spider%20mites.htm
Only sprayed twice and plants showed a cure with rapid dramatic improvement in leaves . It was very expensive as I recall but it was worth it. Today when I looked at it again I noticed it is effective on whitefly nymphs also. I called Bayer and they said to use 1.2 ml in 1 gallon of water for ornamentals. Now I think I've got the 3 most expensive treatments for whitefly and/or mites LOL
Meanwhile no Brugs have died from my Bifen-Nylar experiment (But they look so bad before I started they can hardly get worse LOL)
Needed to update my Byfen-Nylar experiment. Nylar rep informed me it is not approved for use on actual plants. Most of where I sprayed was surfaces not plants because I was afraid I'd kill everything (then I would need therapy LOL). Have seen a 95% reduction and no smell so I'm happy.
