Advice needed

These are some Park's 'Big' seedlings growing in coir. http://www.parkseed.com/gardening/PD/2846/

Do you think it is time for a bit of weak fertilizer now? They just got their first true leaves this week. That is a dime in the photo for size comparison. The tiny plants look a lot larger in this picture than in person. LOL

They are growing a lot slower than expected; I anticipated having them in individual pots by now but they seem too tiny to pot up now. Big problem is that in one week I am going out of town for 2 weeks. Do you think I can leave them in the coir for 3 more weeks - if they are fed a bit? I have thought about making up a weak solution of fertilizer and leaving it in a small spray bottle for my plant sitter so she can spritz them every couple of days.

What do you think and what would be the best fertilizer to use?

I'm in the same boat. I have dozens of seedlings with their first sets of leaves in jiffy peat pellets and I'm leaving for the begonia convention for a week. I put a spray bottle with a weak solution of Schultz house plant food mixed with Superthrive next to mine and have high hopes that someone will spray them.

Do you have them in a covered container? I think any all purpose liquid fertilizer is ok so long as you dilute it by half strength or even 1/4 strength.

Thanks! I appreciate the help.

They are in a covered container although it is vented. I started them in a recycled take out roast chicken container from Costco. LOL WIth a few hoes drilled in the bottom I think they are the best, deeper than most and very sturdy. Even in a shady, sheltered spot we get a lot of wind here and the coir would dry out too fast without the lid.
