I read somewhere that Astilbe needs to be divided to continue to perform well. How often are you supposed to do that, and should you do it in the Spring or Fall? I wouldn't want to sacrifice a season's blooms, so I want to be sure to do it at the right time.

You can divide it every 3 to 4 years. You can do it in the spring or fall. Why don't you wait until the fall. Good luck
