Susie-Que is in da house!!

Philadelphia, PA(Zone 6b)

Dear friends,
Hello!
Heres my intro...
Been a gardener all my life. Born and raised outside Philly I am from a lovely family of gardeners. I am the only girl with 5 brothers. Gardening is in my blood. Mom said i cut my baby teeth on freshly picked, heavily buttered sweet corn.
Moved to the city when DD was a babe. Loved the charm and character of my town home. Hated the lack of back yard.
So I hooked up with a community garden and for 6 years I tilled and toiled along with my brother. Together we had 6, 30x30 plots.
Then 2 years ago, a was promoted to head floral designer at work. Great job but too many hours working to keep a proper garden. My brother still keeps 3 plots that I help out with when I can.
I still crave the feeling of dirt under my nails so I planted a tiny garden in my front yard. A few tomato, cuke and peppers and many herb grown in containers. Its not a lot, but its mine!
I will be 36 next month and married 14 years. My dd "A" is 12 and ds "D" is 8. I have a rottie, Princess Gwendolyn. And a dalmation Countess Gretchen. they love to torture my 3 obnoxious cats!
I love to cook!! I love to throw parties for family and friends. I am addicted to the food network and yes, I do like Martha (no flames please)
I am currently on a diet so I am having fun trying out low fat recipes and meatless meals. Even the kids like tofu now!
I love to swap recipes too!! Not sure if I saw a cooking forum but I will post foodie things from time to time.
lastly, my favorite color is green and my beverage of choice is miller lite.
I look forward to meeting each of you and thank you for making me feel so welcome!
PEACE!

Welcome, SusieQue. My favorite Aunt used to call me SusieQue when I was young. My name is not even remotely suzyish, but she had 3 sons and always said that if she had a daughter, her name would have been Susie. I just introduced myself here today, as well. Like you, I’m a gardener, as well as a mom to a son, daughter, cats (4) and dog (1). I love to cook and share recipes too. I’m more addicted to HGTV though, than I am to the Food Network.

Hi SusieQue,
Because of my location and home's lay-out,
I host lots of family get-togethers and parties, too.
It did take me a few years, but now I (like you)
kind of like to host parties! :-)
You indeed have found the most helpful group of folks
here at Dave's.
Welcome from Oscarsdotter! :-)
