I planted 6 trees last fall 4 apple, pear and peach, Question..
Should I pick the flowers and small fruit this year so they may grow stronger ?
Fruit trees
Have they set fruit yet? Trees that young usually don't, and if they do, they usually abort the fruits.
Young peach trees will sometimes make a heavier set of fruit than they can support.
It's best the first year to remove any fruits that seem to be developing and to thin the fruit once the tree is old enough for light bearing.
I would do nothing until you see fruit thats getting some size then I would take some off leaving some as testers. You grew fruit trees for fruit? Why not try a few to see exactly what they taste like. Some people say pick them all off and prune heavily to get development in the roots and trunk etc. If you were doing this commercially that would be the way to go but for at home I wouldn't do that.
