I've been out of pocket for a while but thought I'd post a few today.

First up is a bud from "Chartruse Rose" On this one I think the buds are as pretty as the blooms

where does everyone get all these beautiful Hibiscus? all I ever see in my garden centers are just the plain old red, yellow and orange ones. tho i did buy a 'Fire N Ice' today, but thats about as fancy as they get.

Hi cue_chik

in your area maybe lowes or home depot will have some larger ones. Other than local nurseries it's all mail order.

Thanks, I kinda figured as much. I was hoping to just drop in somewhere and discover some exotics, but alas, it is not my luck.....LOL

(Zone 11)

Nice! I especially like the first three kinds...
Has Creole Lady ever set pods for you?
Putting her on the short list. ;~)

Hey Dave,

Yes she does. I did get 2 good pods off her about 3 weeks ago. Harvested 8 seeds from 1 pod (Creole Lady x Lavender Daze) and 11 from the other pod (Creole Lady x Nightfire). Nicked and planted them today. My others pods were pounded over here by 14" of rainfall friday and saturday. I was out of town and could do nothing about protecting it. Several came off of her but there looks like 4 that have survived.

Sounds like some great crosses. Send some of that rain down here, we've had about two inches in the last two months.

Super photos Robert. I really like your seedling and was trying to think of what you would name it. Two names that passed through my head are "Spinning Fire" and "Fireicane". Perhaps I have too much time on my hands today thinking of names!!! LOL

Beautiful, Robert!!! I love Chartreuse Rose. Mine opened then we had 100 degrees and wind, so it didn't last too long :-( Creole Lady is great too, I'm so excited to have buds on mine!!!

Really like the seedling too!! And, I've got to say, my Veronika Todd has never looked that nice. I'm getting ready to repot her, so maybe she'll put out some nicer blooms...
