I just received around 100 "Glory of the Snow" bulbs (plants actually) from a trade. I believe these had just finished blooming in Maine as a few still had blooms on them. Should I go ahead and plant these now--OR ---should I maybe cut the foilage (which was getting kinda mushy in the confines of a storage bag with wet paper towells wrapped around bulbs) back, let dry, and put in crisper till fall?? It is my understanding that the roots on the bulb have already done all the growing they will this year so if I put them in the ground now they won't dig in will they??
Help!!! Glory of the Snow Bulbs.....
Hmm. I guess you can't lose by planting them, though I'd let them dry out a bit first. If there are seed pods attached, you should probably take them off so the bulb doesn't waste what little energy it has in trying to ripen seeds. Let us know what happens!
