Sometimes the competition get fierce back here. I've seen as many as 8 bunnies back here.

Someone's eating my birdseed
Is that the Easter Bunny there?
;-)
eating the seed & there it is. I would prefer the cardinal gets it, being more partial to birds.
This is my first post -- I feel I have to comment! I'm in Norman, too, and your bunny pic made me smile. We found a bunny in our back yard only once, and I'm pretty sure it was someone's pet. Big rabbit (a lop?), and it wasn't the least bit concerned that we were watching it. :-)
Welcome to the forum mrsstory!
Let me second your welcome, mrsstory. There is a story behind one of these bunnies. One of my grandsons in TX called me last spring upset that a friend's dog had found a rabbit's nest and killed 3 of 4 bunnies. He had the small survivor and wanted to know what to do with it. I advised his mom to go immediately pet store and get some kitten formula and begin feeding it every 2 hours. It survived and while we were down there on a visit, we were talking about where we should release it. I suggested that we bring it to OK where it would have plenty of birdseed and carrots to eat.
It was a different color than the local cotton-tails, but can't tell the difference any more. You can still tell it because it isn't as wild as the others. Will let you walk up to it. So long as it can avoid the local coyotes, it has a pretty good life.
Nice story red!
Thank you, pelletory and reddirtretiree!
Nice that it worked out for the bunny. We went to Atwood's about a week before Easter, and saw the bunny rabbits. Of course, my daughter was thrilled (and kept telling me how much she WANTED one). I'm sure some of them will get good homes, but I couldn't help but feel bad for them. They were so sweet . . . but I don't think our cats would play nicely!
I buy chicken scratch in there to throw out for the doves and other ground feeding birds. In the spring, I always have to walk over and look at the rabbits and chicks.
